W. Reed Hastings – Estimated Net Worth Today: $3.1B.

Reed Hastings is the co-founder and executive chairman of Netflix. The video-streaming service offers TV shows and films, as well as original content, to 222 million members globally. He currently sits on a number of boards and non-profit organizations.

A former member of the California State Board of Education, Hastings is an advocate for education reform through charter schools.

He owns about 2% of Netflix, which went public in 2002.

Hastings co-founded Netflix in 1995, following the sale of his first company, Pure Software, to Rational Software. However, he resigned as co-CEO in January 2023.

In March 2022, Hastings donated $1 million to Razom, a Ukrainian nonprofit organization that procures emergency supplies and medical equipment such as disposable resuscitators to treat the wounded.
