Marc Russell Benioff – is best known as the co-founder, chairman and CEO of the software company Salesforce. He owns about 4% of the cloud computing software firm he cofounded in 1999.
Before joining Salesforce, he spent 13 years at Oracle, the database software giant, where he was mentored by Larry Ellison.
Salesforce was a pioneer in delivering its software as a service (SaaS) model, which hosted the software online, rather than requiring clients to install it on their computer systems.
