Jack Dorsey is the CEO of payments company  Block, the developer of the Square financial services platform.

He was CEO of Twitter, Inc. from 2015 until November 2021. He stepped down from the board in May 2022.

Dorsey, along with co-founder Jim McKelvey, developed a small business platform to accept debit and credit card payments on a mobile device called Square, released in May 2010; then took it public in 2015; it was renamed Block in December 2021.

He reportedly lost his position on Twitter for leaving work early to enjoy other pursuits, such as yoga and fashion design.

In 2016, Dorsey gave nearly one-third of his Twitter shares to employees.
