B. Raghava Reddy is one of those rare scientists who turned chemistry into a passport for invention. With a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University (1980) and a B.Sc./M.Sc. from Osmania University in India, he began his career in academia, following four years of postdoctoral research with teaching positions at American universities, before transitioning into industry. In Houston and Duncan, he transitioned fluidly from plastics (Fina) to oilfield services (Halliburton) to energy innovation (Saudi Aramco), where his expertise in applied science had a tangible impact in the real world. Along the way, he earned more than 350 U.S. patents and published 75 journal articles, cementing his place among the world’s top 1000 inventors. Named a Distinguished Lecturer by the Society of Petroleum Engineers in 2014-2015, Reddy exemplifies the quiet rigor behind the technologies that power modern life—a chemist who didn’t just study reactions, but sparked them in industry itself.
