Heung-Mook Kim

Mr. Kim received the BSEE and MSEE in electronics and electrical engineering from POSTECH, Pohang, Korea, in 1993 and 1995 respectively.

From February 1995 to January 2002, he was with POSCO Technology Laboratory in the field of Measurement and Monitoring as a research engineer.

Since February 2004, Kim has been with the Broadcasting System Research Department at ETRI, developing advanced transmission and reception technology for terrestrial digital television as a senior member of the research staff.

His research interests are digital signal processing and RF transmission for digital communication systems.

Patent №: 11764808 (September 19, 2023) – Modulator and modulation method using non-uniform 16-symbol signal constellation for low-density parity check codeword having 4/15 code rate. This device and method use a unique 16-symbol signal pattern. It takes a specific type of code (LDPC) with a code rate of 4/15 and assigns it to these symbols in 4-bit groups.

John Edward Cronin

Chairman and Managing Director ipCapital Group.

Mr. Cronin has authored more than 1,500 patents and applications across hundreds of technology spaces, leveraging the ipCapital Methodology.

Before forming ipCG, Mr. Cronin spent over 17 years at IBM and became its top inventor with over 100 patents and 150 patent publications. He created and ran the IBM Patent Factory, which was essential in helping IBM become number one in US patents and led the team that contributed to the startup and success of IBM’s licensing program.

Mr. Cronin is also the Chair of the Board of Directors of AdrenalineIP, a Board member of IX-Innovations,  and the Founder of HarvestWeb, a 501(c)3 charitable organization that provides an easy online way to make donations to food pantries.

Patent №: 11763636 (September 19, 2023) – Method of offering a marketplace of odds for wagering.

image 113

A system allows users to bet with each other on live sports events. Users pick wagers and set their own odds and terms, and others can accept them. The system holds everyone’s money in escrow until the event’s outcome is known. It then settles the wager, either directly or through a third party.

Patent №: 11763637 (September 19, 2023) – AI wager odds adjuster.

image 114

A system uses AI to analyze user betting behaviour and game parameters to set betting odds for live games. It also adjusts these odds in real time based on how users are betting compared to the expected behavior, while the betting window is open.

Yu-Ming Lin

Director at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC)

Patent №: 11765892 (September 19, 2023) – Three-dimensional memory device and method of manufacture.

This method creates a layered structure with isolation and semiconductor materials, shapes a semiconductor channel in one area, adds a memory film layer, forms dummy bit and source lines in another area, and then converts these dummy lines into functional ones by replacing the semiconductor material with a conductive material.

Patent №:11764284(September 19, 2023) – Semiconductor device with reduced trap defect and method of forming the same. To manufacture a semiconductor device, start with a substrate. Add two dielectric layers and treat them with a trap-repairing element. Create a dummy gate, add a gate spacer, and make lightly doped source/drain regions. Then, form source/drain regions, replace the dummy gate with a new one, and cover everything with an inter-layer dielectric (ILD) layer.

Paul J McConville

Mr. McConville is a principal scientist in the Xerox Corporation’s Advanced Technology Group (ATG) responsible for inkjet system integration technology development including cut-sheet production Baltoro, Liquid Metal Jetting, and several packaging initiatives.

McConville received his Ph.D. in experimental physics from Michigan State University (1995) and is the recipient of the Sherwood K. Haynes Outstanding Graduate Award. While at Xerox, he received several awards including the Anne Mulcahy Inventor Award.

Patent №: 11760112 (September 19, 2023) – Airflow control in a printing system, and related devices, systems, and methods. A printing system includes a printhead and a vacuum platen for holding the print medium. It has airflow control with valves to regulate airflow through the carrier plate. These valves are controlled based on the print medium’s location. Channels in the vacuum platen control vacuum suction based on the print medium’s size.

Patent №: 11760018 (September 19, 2023) –System and method for additive manufacture of three-dimensional (3D) printed objects with UV-curable material using a porous substrate. A 3D printer uses radiation to cure material within a porous substrate. Initially, it uses low intensity to pass through the substrate without curing. Then, it applies higher intensity to cure the material. The material is applied using wipers.
