A method for counting the number of revolutions of a burr of a coffee mill driven in rotation by an electric motor. According to the method: at least one electrical parameter Pof the motor that varies in proportion to the speed of said motor is measured in a regular time interval T; the speed Vin each time interval Tis calculated from the parameter Pbased on an experimentally obtained relation; and the number of revolutions Nmade by the burr in each time interval Tis calculated from the speed Vdetermined.
