A feed composition for animals (livestock, poultry, fish or pet) which contains poly-&ggr;-glutamic acid (and/or degradated product thereof) and, a method for reducing body fat acumulation in animals which comprises feeding animals with a feed composition containing poly-&ggr;-glutamic acid.
