Abstract
A process for making polyimide composition comprising reacting at least one diamine, at least one tetracarboxylic diacid diester, selected phosphoramide and at least one base catalyst to form at least one polyimide compound, said reaction carried out at a temperature from about 20.degree. C. to about 60.degree. C. and wherein the molar ratio of diamine:tetracarboxylic diacid diester:phosphoramide:base catalyst is in the range of 0.8-1.2:1:2.5-4.0:2.5-4.0.
