Abstract
Quinoxaline derivatives having the formula I ##STR1## wherein X represents a halogen atom; R represents ##STR2## --CH.dbd.CH--COOR.sup.2 (R.sup.2 represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group); --CN or --CH.sub.2 OH, and R.sup.1 represents ##STR3## --S--R.sup.3 (R.sup.3 represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or alkenyl group or phenyl or chlorophenyl group), --NH--R.sup.4 (R.sup.4 represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy carbonylalkyl group, hydroxy alkyl group, phenyl group; C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy alkyl group or di C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl amino group), are remarkably effective as selective herbicides.
