Abstract

A method includes: receiving an integrated circuit design including a plurality of design objects; identifying a desired design object associated with a violation in the integrated circuit design; extracting, by a processor, a design tree from the integrated circuit design, the design tree corresponding to a portion of the integrated circuit design including the desired design object and extracted design objects associated with the desired design object; and connecting, by a processing device, the desired design object and the extracted design objects associated with the desired design object based on the connections in the integrated circuit design to generate a reduced design file smaller than the integrated circuit design, wherein the violation is reproducible based on the reduced design file.
