Selected bacterial strains belonging to the genusfor use in the treatment of hypercholesterolaemia are described. In particular, a food composition or supplement product or medical device or pharmaceutical composition has said bacterial strains in association with sterols or phytosterols and/or stanols or phytostanols and/or glucomannan and/or konjac gum and/or prebiotic fibers and/or fermented red rice and/or betaglucans from oats, oat bran, barley, barley bran and/orgel in lyophilized form.
