Abstract
An organic electroluminescent device is provided and includes: a pair of electrodes; and at least one organic layer between the pair of electrodes, the at least one organic layer including a light-emitting layer. The at least one organic layer contains an indole compound represented by formula (1): in which Indrepresents a substituted or unsubstituted indole ring, Lrepresents a linking group, Indand Lare connected to each other at 2- or 3-position of Ind, and nrepresents an integer of 2 or more.
