Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed toward techniques and configurations for an apparatus with an optical connector. In one embodiment, the apparatus may include an optical connector having a cage to receive an optical fiber cable to connect the apparatus with another apparatus. The cage may include first and second sides and a face that mates the first and second sides. The face may comprise an optical interface to optically connect tips of the optical fiber cable and the other apparatus. The cage may further include a cavity having a first portion formed substantially in the face to receive the optical interface, and a second portion that extends into one of the first or second sides to provide an opening to enable application of an adhesive material to the tips of the cable, to fixably connect the tips with the optical interface.
