Abstract

The present invention relates to aseed designated 79-226 RZ, which exhibits resistance against downy mildew (Regel) races B1:1 to B1:28, CA-I, CA-IIA, CA-IIB, CA-III, CA-IV, CA-V, CA-VI, CA-VII, CA-VIII and currant-lettuce aphid () biotype Nr:0, an extraordinary high number of red-colored, elongated leaves of substantially equal size, and a low to medium plant weight. The present invention also relates to aplant produced by growing the 79-226 RZ seed. The invention further relates to methods for producing the lettuce cultivar, represented by lettuce variety 79-226 RZ.
