Abstract
A holding structurefor an image pickup device includes a back-incident type image pickup deviceand a holding memberthat holds the image pickup element, and the image pickup devicehas an image pickup elementthat performs imaging and a wiring boardelectrically connected to the image pickup element. The holding memberis freely attachably and detachably attached to a side faceof the wiring board, at each of the opposing side facesin the wiring board, a to-be-fitted portionis formed, and the to-be-fitted portionand a fitting portionformed at the holding memberare fitted together. This relieves, even when an impact is applied to the image pickup deviceduring an inspection, delivery, etc., the impact to be applied to the wiring boardand the image pickup elementby the holding memberwhile suppressing the holding memberfrom coming off. Further, handling of the image pickup deviceis facilitated, and an unnecessary impact to be applied to the image pickup deviceis suppressed.
