An argon-feeding conduitis disposed so as to inject argon into the vesselaround the electrode main body. Ethanol is supplied in such an amount that the liquid surface completely covers the electrode main bodyof the immersion electrodeand does not reach the electrode main bodyof the non-immersion electrode. The electrode main bodyis formed from, for example, iron, nickel, or cobalt.
