Abstract

A honeycomb structure includes at least one honeycomb unit having opening ratio (P) of at least approximately 50% and at most approximately 65% and a cell density ρ of at least approximately 31/cmand at most approximately 93/cm. The honeycomb unit includes an inorganic binder and at least approximately 230 g/L of zeolite in which L represents an apparent volume. The honeycomb unit further includes and a plurality of cell walls extending from a first end to a second end of the honeycomb unit along a longitudinal direction of the honeycomb unit to define cells. The cell walls have a surface roughness Ra of at least approximately 1 μm and at most approximately 30 μm.
