Abstract

An ink cartridge for an inkjet printer contains an aqueous ink formulation. The ink formulation comprising an IR-absorbing naphthalocyanine dye of formula (II): or a salt form thereof, wherein:M is Ga(A);Ais an axial ligand selected from —OH, halogen, —OR, —OC(O)Ror —O(CHCHO)Rwherein e is an integer from 2 to 10 and Ris H, Calkyl or C(O)Calkyl;Rand Rmay be the same or different and are selected from hydrogen or Calkoxy;Ris selected from Calkyl, Caryl, Carylalkyl or Si(R)(R)(R);Ris selected from Calkyl, Caryl or Carylalkyl; andR, Rand Rmay be the same or different and are selected from Calkyl, Caryl, Carylalkyl, Calkoxy, Caryloxy or Carylalkoxy.The ink formulation has a characteristic pH in the range of 4 to 6.5.
