Abstract
An electronic assemblyand a method for its manufacture. The assemblyuses no solder. Components, or component packageswith IPO leadsare placedonto a planar substrate. The assembly is encapsulatedwith electrically insulating materialwith viasformed or drilledthrough the substrateto the components' leads. Then the assembly is platedand the encapsulation and drilling processrepeated to build up desired layers. The planar substratemay be a flexible substrateallowing bending of an assemblyto fit into various enclosures.
