Abstract
An automated banking machine includes a lower fascia covering the door of the chest or secure enclosure. The lower fascia is movably mounted in supporting connection to the chest housing to permit access to the chest door. An inwardly extending flange supported on the lower fascia engages the chest door when the lower fascia is in an accessible position and the chest door is open. The chest door is thus retained in an open condition for access to the secure area for restocking a currency dispensing mechanism or servicing ATM components.
