Abstract

A mold system () includes a gate control system () that selectively deforms a deformable member () to selectively close one or more injection gates () and/or vent gates () in a mold platen (). The injection gates () are selectively opened and closed by engaging the deformable member () with the injection gates (). The deformable member () is located between the gate control system () and the curing fluid, and curing fluid entering the mold platen () therefore does not contact the gate control system ().
