Abstract
An opto-electronic modulator includes a Mach-Zehnder structure that comprises pin-diodes in both arms of the Mach-Zehnder structure. The Mach-Zehnder structure is formed by waveguides so as to confine an optical mode in the opto-electronic modulator.
