Abstract

A high density, high speed, low profile, electrical connector () includes a housing () and conductive contacts () partially positioned in the housing. The housing has a base () defining therethrough a number of passageways (). Each contact has a body portion () and a pair of cantilevered beams () extending from the body portion. A retaining tab () is stamped from the body portion and abuts against a projection () formed in the passageway for protect the housing from possible movement with respect to a board on which the connector is mounted. The connector also has a stabilizer () assembled to the housing.
