Abstract
The invention relates to a method for recovering data in a data processing system () according to which a recovery is exclusively effected in predetermined units or installations. A recovery program () is run on the data processing system (). A testing procedure of given hardware features of the data processing system () is conducted, and all the features that are characteristic of the data and of the system are stored in a control file of the recovery program ().
