Abstract
A device and procedure for portioning a piece of food in portions with a predetermined weight or predetermined thickness. The device has a pivotable insertion drum () arranged in a rotatable manner around its axis with at least one oblong insertion chamber () for inserting the piece of food. A knife () is arranged on the insertion drum () for cutting a portion located in the portioning chamber from the rest of the piece of food.
