Abstract

Additional charge of a solid raw materialin the shapes of granules/lumps, low in raw material cost, and with no risk of cracking, is performed into a molten raw materialin a crucible in a static manner without solidifying a surface of the molten raw materialin the crucible. A bottom of a cylindrical raw material vesselmade of a material non-meltable when being in contact with the molten raw materialin the crucibleis closed with a bottom covermade of a material meltable and removable when being in contact with the molten raw materialin the crucible. The raw material vesselin a state of being filled with the solid raw materialin the shapes of granules/lumps is hung down above the crucibleto immerse the lower portion thereof into the molten raw materialin the crucible. The bottom coveris molten and removed by putting the bottom coverinto contact with the molten raw materialin the crucibleto thereby charge the solid raw materialin the raw material vesselinto the molten raw materialin the crucible
