Abstract
The unit includes an electric drive motor ( ) and a pump section ( ) that are situated next to each other in a common housing ( ) designed at least nearly in the shape of a hollow cylinder. The pump section ( ) comprises a delivery element ( ) rotating in a pump chamber ( ), and one wall ( ) each forms a boundary of the pump chamber ( ) with the drive motor ( ) and with the outside of the housing ( ) in the direction of the axis of rotation ( ) of the delivery element ( ). The walls ( ) forming the boundary of the pump chamber ( ) with the outside of the housing ( ) is formed as a single component with the housing ( ), and the walls ( ) forming the boundary of the pump chamber ( ) with the drive motor ( ) is inserted into the housing ( ) as a separate component. Due to the fact that the wall ( ) forming the boundary of the pump chamber ( ) with the outside is integrated with the housing ( ), no separate steps are required to manufacture and assemble said wall and housing, and the pump chamber ( ) is sealed off completely from the outside of the housing ( ), because no joints are present that would have to be sealed off.
