Abstract
A wire strainer intended for straining of wire in a fence structure. The wire strainer includes a body with which a spool having a plurality of teeth is rotatably mounted. An engagement member extend between and is slidingly engaged in elongate slots . Legs of the engagement member slidingly engage with the inside wall surfaces of the divergent arms of body . The legs thus apply a force to the engagement member so that it engages with the teeth . The engagement member can be removed from contact with the spool by sliding against the biasing effect of the legs so as to engage with a step in the elongate opening
