Abstract

Load Range C or D radial light truck tires have plies reinforced with metallic cords. At least one of the plies has an inch strength of at least 11,500 N/mm per in. and is reinforced with 0.32 mm-0.40 mm filament diameter ultra tensile steel cords at 17-24 ends per inch. The ply may be located in any of the tire components such as the belt, carcass, chipper, or chafer.
