Abstract

An analog signal (V ) is converted into a digital signal ( ) by sampling the analog signal at a plurality of points in time to produce a sampled signal ( ) which represents the analog signal. A filtering operation is advantageously incorporated into the sampling operation ( ). The filtering operation filters the analog signal such that the sampled signal represents a filtered version of the analog signal. The digital signal is produced from the sampled signal.
