Abstract

An electronic component mounting apparatus ( ) includes a device for illuminating a mark ( ) on a printed circuit board ( ) for recognition. The illumination device ( ) includes a light path adjustable member ( ). This light path adjustable member ( ) is disposed between an illumination source unit ( ) and the object ( ) to be illuminated. At least one of the light incidence side and the emission side of the light path adjustable member ( ) is divided into a plurality of subareas ( ), ( ), ( ), each having a different index of refraction. Each of the subareas ( ), ( ), ( ) emits light at a respective different index of refraction. The emitted light can be collected on a specific area containing the object ( ), and appropriate illumination light can thus be emitted to the object ( ).
