Abstract

An information recording medium ( ) comprises a base sheet ( ), a resin layer ( ) formed on the base sheet ( ) and having a holographic region ( ) provided with a diffraction grating ( ) in a regular or irregular arrangement, and a ferromagnetic thin film ( ) formed on the holographic region ( ) of the resin layer ( ). The ferromagnetic thin film ( ) has a specific magnetic characteristic dependent on a holographic pattern formed in the holographic region ( ). The magnetic characteristics of the ferromagnetic thin film are converted into signals corresponding to the holographic pattern.
