Abstract

There is provided a reagent composition for the enzymatic determination of electrolytes, which has high solution stability enabling it to stand up to its distribution in the market as a liquid reagent, and which further has excellent quantitative reliability and accuracy. This is a reagent composition for the determination of electrolytes such as calcium or chloride ions, which contains: (a) inactive &agr;-amylase; (b) a chelating agent; (c) a substrate for &agr;-amylase; and (d) a cyclodextrin derivative, and which may optionally further contain an SH group containing compound or a salt thereof.
