Abstract
A slot machine,provides a plurality of rotatable reels,carrying symbols,is arranged to pay a prize on the occurrence of a predetermined symbol or combination of symbols. As well as the predetermined prize winning combinations listed on the artwork,of top box,a special symbol display,is provided within the artwork panel to display a special symbol for use in determining additional winning combinations. Typically, the special symbol will be used as a wildcard symbol such that when a game is played any occurrence of the currently displayed wildcard symbol in the game display will count as any other symbol when determining if any winning combinations have occurred.
