Abstract
Apparatus, and an associated method, converts a conventional computer peripheral device, such as an I/O (input/output) subsystem into an I.sub.2 O-aware device. An IOP mounted upon a connector card is connected to a computer bus to which the conventional computer peripheral device is connected. Once connected, the IOP, together with the conventional computer peripheral device form an I.sub.2 O-aware device.
