Abstract

Early diagnosis of mastitis or garget is carried out by measuring the concentration of 3-hydroxybutyric acid in milk. Used to this end is a reagent reacting with 3-hydroxybutyric acid to show a color at a concentration of 100 .mu.mol/l or higher.
