Abstract

Disclosed herein is an N-indanyl carboxamide derivative as a novel compound, represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein A represents a group of the formula, ##STR2## (wherein X represents a halogen atom, a methyl group, or a trifluoromethyl group, Y represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, an amino group, a mercapto group, or a lower alkylthio group, R.sup.1 represents a methyl group or a trifluoromethyl group, and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group), R represents a lower alkyl group, and n is an integer in the range of 1 to 6, and an agricultural/horticultural fungicide comprising said N-indanyl carboxamide derivative as an active ingredient.
