Abstract

A cephalosporin compound substituted by imidazolium ring in 3-position of cephem having the following formula (I), and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is an organic residue known in .beta.-lactam antibiotics, R.sup.2 is hydrogen atom or methoxy, n is 0 or 1, A is a nitrogen-containing group constituting imidazolium ring, is useful as an agent for preventing and treating bacterial infections.
