Abstract

The invention relates to novel polypeptide of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is a bond, or a peptide or amino acid residue 1 to 16 amino acids counting from the C terminus of the peptide chain of ##STR2## and Y is a peptide or amino acid residue having 1 to 5 amino acids counting from the N terminus of the peptide chain of ##STR3## and conjugate between the same and a carrier protein, as well as hydridoma and monoclonal antibody derived by the use of the polypeptide or the conjugate, and a method of detecting and of purifying human gamma-interferon using the antibodies.
