Abstract
In the reference electrode for the oxygen probe comprising a mixture of Cr powder and Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 powder, an improved reference electrode characterized in that Cr powder and Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 powder are mixed in a ratio 97%:3% to 80%:20% and the mixture is sintered beforehand. An oxygen probe using this electrode exhibits improved response, stability and reproducibility in molten steel.
