Abstract

Described in a process for augmenting or enhancing the aroma or taste of a smoking tobacco comprising the step of adding to a smoking tobacco an aroma or taste augmenting or enhancing quantity of at least one tricyclic ketone having the structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are the same or different and each represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 lower alkyl.
