Abstract

Arylsulfonyl tetrazoles of the formula ##STR1## where R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are selected from hydrogen, lower alkyl and lower alkoxy groups, and their preparation are described. These compounds have been found to be advantageous condensing or coupling agents via phosphoester formation in polynucleotide synthesis.
