Abstract

A method of treating and protecting plants from fungal infections by topical and systemic application with hypophosphites is described. The hypophosphites are selected from the group consisting of hypophosphorous acid (H.sub.3 PO.sub.2) and its salts with monovalent, and multivalent inorganic ions.
