Abstract
A microfluidic chip includes a fluidic channel portion, a cover layer, a substrate, and partition layers interposed between the cover layer and the substrate to define the fluidic channel portion. The partition layer has a curved portion curved away from the cover layer at an edge on the fluidic channel portion side of an upper contact surface in contact with the cover layer, and the fluidic channel portion includes a bubble trapping region formed by the curved portion and a rear surface of the cover layer on the fluidic channel portion side. The bubble trapping region traps air bubbles in the fluidic channel portion.
