Abstract
A manufacturing method for suppressing a slurry from adhering to a flange part and an uncoated part from forming on a honeycomb structure body. The method of the exhaust gas purification catalyst includes preparing a base material, which includes an outer cylinder having the flange part and the honeycomb structure body, holding the base material to make a cylinder axis of the base material approximately coincide with a vertical direction, inserting a partitioning member, which is formed in a cylindrical shape whose outer diameter is smaller than an inner diameter of the outer cylinder, from a top end of the outer cylinder and arranging to make an end surface at an upward side of the honeycomb structure body and a lower end of the partitioning member be opposed to each other, supplying the slurry to the partitioning member, and sucking the slurry from a lower end of the outer cylinder.
