Abstract

A method is provided for producing astrocyte-like cells, including (A) upregulating transcription factors including SRY-box transcription factor 9 (SOX9), nuclear factor IA (NFIA), and nuclear factor IB (NFIB) in human pluripotent stein cells and (B) culturing the human pluripotent stem cells, in which the transcription factors are upregulated, and consequently differentiating the human pluripotent stem cells into astrocyte-like cells.
