Abstract
An example of an information processing system transitions from a first state to a second state a location that is associated with a predetermined event having occurred, from among a plurality of locations that are set in the virtual space. The information processing system identifies an area where a total decision value is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, wherein the total decision value is obtained by summing together first decision values for different positions based on one or more locations that are in the second state from among the plurality of locations, and wherein the first decision value is equal to a first reference value at a position corresponding to the location and attenuates in accordance with a distance from the position. A map image is displayed showing field information of the virtual space, wherein field information of a portion corresponding to the area is shown.
