Abstract

To provide a technique for selecting a target cell producing a target substance that specifically binds to a desired cell membrane protein more rapidly and efficiently. A substratehaving a plurality of microwellsis provided. A first cellexpressing a target cell membrane protein on its surface is allowed to adhere to each of the microwells. One or two second cellsas a candidate of a target cell are introduced into each microwell, and are allowed to coexist with the first cellin the microwell, and target substancesecreted by the second cellis brought into contact with the first cell. A microwellincluding the first cellto which the target substancebinds is identified. The second cellas the target cell is recovered from the identified microwell. One example of the target substanceis an antibody. Visualization may be performed by adding a label substance
