Abstract

The invention relates to direct-fed microbials for use in improving reproductive performance in animals, decreasing death loss and/or off-feed events in animals, improving milk production and/or milk quality in dairy animals, and inhibiting a disease or disorder in dairy animals selected from the group consisting of milk fever, ketosis, retained placenta, metritis, pneumonia, and displaced abomasum. More particularly, the invention relates to isolatedstrains 86, 300, 101, 235, 177, and 102, and strains having all of the identifying characteristics of these strains, for uses comprising the above-mentioned uses.
