Abstract
An end effector for use with a surgical stapling instrument is disclosed. The end effector comprises an anvil, a staple cartridge, and a firing member. The staple cartridge comprises a proximal end, a distal end, a longitudinal slot extending from the proximal end toward the distal end, a first row of staple cavities, a second row of staple cavities, a third row of staple cavities, first staple drivers, and second staple drivers. The firing member is movable toward the distal end of the staple cartridge during a staple firing stroke. The firing member is configured to lift the first staple drivers and the second staple drivers toward the anvil during the staple firing stroke.
